Supporting families together
Effective support for parents.
Stronger outcomes for children.
I work alongside treating professionals to support the parents behind the child, providing a focused referral pathway that complements the work of GPs, psychologists, and school welfare teams.
My role is offering practical, evidence-based support that strengthens the parent and the home environment, helping families make meaningful, lasting change.
Parents can access counselling in person in Mount Colah or online. I also offer workshops, parent groups and professional development for schools and organisations by arrangement.
For Psychologists and Psychiatrists
When parents are supported, child therapy works better.
While your clinical work is with the child, mine is with the adult who goes home to that child every day. I offer therapeutic support for the parent’s own anxiety, low mood, and emotional patterns, combined with a deep focus on helping them understand their child’s nervous system, emotional needs, and the parent-child relationship.
This can help parents process what they are carrying, strengthen their capacity to respond at home, and support the therapeutic goals you are working on with the child.
A parent who feels supported and genuinely understands their child is better equipped to reinforce the work being done in treatment. This builds parental capacity, strengthens engagement, and helps create better, more lasting outcomes.
Improved Outcomes
I work within clear professional boundaries. I do not work clinically with the child, assess or diagnose, but support the parent so you can stay focused on the individual in therapy.
Clear Boundaries
I value open communication and am always open to collaborating with the treating team where families have consented.
Collaboration
For School Counsellors & Welfare Teams
Parent support that strengthens the whole school community.
I support student wellbeing by working with the parents behind them. Whether a family is navigating a difficult period, working to understand their child’s emotions or behaviour, or the everyday weight of parenting itself, I offer a place for parents to get the support they need.
I also provide parent workshops, on-site parent groups and professional development for school teams, tailored to the needs of your community.
I am a certified facilitator of the Circle of Security© and Tuning In To Kids® programs, both available in adapted form within individual parent sessions.
Evidenced Frameworks
School Engagement
I am available to speak to parent groups on topics such as understanding big emotions, nervous system basics, and building connection through difficult behaviour, or a workshop tailored to your school’s community and needs.
Available for workshops, parent groups and professional development, and for school’s wanting to go further, I can deliver the full Circle of Security© or Tuning In To Kids® program on-site.
On-site Delivery
For General Practitioners
Helping families earlier, when and where it counts.
For GPs I offer accessible, practical support for parents navigating stress, overwhelm and difficult behaviours, helping families get the right support sooner. This can be especially helpful for parents presenting with mild to moderate anxiety or low mood linked to parenting stress, where supporting the parent directly can improve family functioning and day-to-day wellbeing.
Parents can also read more about fees, GP referrals and Medicare rebates before booking.
Flexible online sessions or in-person sessions in Mount Colah. No mental health plan is required.
Accessibility
Wait times
Parents can typically be seen within one to two weeks, with no session limits. This gives families timely support while they are waiting for specialist services, assessments, or ongoing treatment.
Available for workshops, parent groups and professional development.
